The Vancouver Giants have punched their playoff ticket.
Vancouver’s 4-2 win over the Victoria Royals Saturday at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria assured the Giants (24-28-5-2) a post-season spot out of the WHL’s Western Conference with nine games left in the regular season spread over the next three weeks.
This is the fourth-straight season that Vancouver has qualified for the playoffs.
Vancouver currently sits in seventh spot in the West, eight points up the Kelowna Rockets (23-33-3-0), who currently have the final playoff posting in the 10-team loop. Kelowna is eight points up on the ninth-place Victoria Royals (15-39-6-1) and the Rockets have two games
