Goalies making Vancouver Giants go, as another strong netminding outing leads to win over Victoria Royals

Jesper Vikman’s 37-save effort Saturday landed a Vancouver Giants’ goalie one of the three stars for a third straight contest and propelled the team to a 2-1 overtime victory versus the Victoria Royals Friday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

The Giants (20-24-4-2) head into the back half of their weekend home-and-home series with the Royals (14-32-5-1) tonight at the Langley Events Centre (7 p.m., Sportsnet 650) sitting in seventh spot in the WHL’s Western Conference.

Vancouver’s 13-5-4-2 in one-goal games this season.
