Vasily Podkolzin has been struggling this season and his season got worse on Sunday in Boston.
The big Vancouver Canucks winger got into a fight in the first period against the Boston Bruins’ A.J. Greer. He lost his helmet at one point and after taking a pounding from Greer, appeared to smack the side of his head on the ice.
He also looked to leave some blood on the ice.
During the first intermission, the Canucks confirmed that Podkolzin would not be returning to the game.
They did not say what the injury was.
