Elias Pettersson has been named the Vancouver Canucks’ best player this season as fans paid tribute to him Saturday night at the game versus the Calgary Flames.
The team announced Pettersson as the team’s MVP and winner of the Cyclone Taylor Trophy for 2022-23. Pettersson scored a first-period shorthanded goal to put him on 99 points for the season.
An online fan vote over the past week determined the team’s MVP, as well as three other awards.
Quinn Hughes was voted the team’s best defenceman. Hughes, whose name will be added to the Walter (Babe) Pratt Trophy, had 73 points in 74 games coming into Saturday’s
