B.C. School Sports and the Langley Events Centre announced Tuesday they had signed an agreement for the LEC to host the girls and boys basketball championships through at least the 2024-25 season.
The LEC and the tournaments had worked on year-to-year commitments previously, so this formalizes things for an extended period.
As well, BCSS took over governance of all high school sport last season after previously being an umbrella group. This deal suggests their long-term vision and alleviates any worries there might have been in the basketball community about the new group in charge wanting to make sweeping changes.
