Digimarc did not say how much the deal was worth to the company. House Beautiful is using Digimarc’s watermarking technology to allow posting seven images in House Beautiful’s latest issue, using a mobile iPhone or Android app. Digimarc is providing its technology as an alternative to QR codes, the barcodes starting to be adopted by marketers to connect mobile users to their sites. Digimarc’s own technology does not use QR codes, instead embedding its code innocuously into an image.
