Thanksgiving travel is expected to surge later this month as forecasts predict that Washington state will see travel volumes in excess of pre-pandemic levels.

From Washington state alone, 1.4 million people are expected to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, as the American Automobile Association (AAA) reports. As for the entire country, AAA says more than 50 million are expected to leave home for the holiday. Those numbers would represent a respective 16% and 13% increase over the prior year, and a 2% increase from 2019 in the state.
