A patrol officer with the Tukwila Police Department recovered several thousand dollars worth of clothes from an organized retail theft crime ring after conveniently being in the right place at the right time.
Suspects were exiting a store with carts and bags loaded with stolen merchandise when an employee tried to stop them, one of the thieves laughed and said “I’m going to push this cart right out those doors, and you’re not going to stop me or do anything about it.”
The employee pointed to the officer walking towards the store and said, “No, but he is.”
The suspect left the merchandise and fled the scene.
