Seattle receives $20 million federal grant for East Marginal Way improvements

Seattle will soon receive $20 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation to improve mobility and safety along East Marginal Way South.

Seattle’s roadside artifacts whisper of phantom highways

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg highlighted Seattle’s project in a video on Twitter explaining the RAISE grants. RAISE stands for Rebuilding America’s Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity.

“This year’s winner will receive money to fund projects that improve transportation in communities across the country,” Buttigieg explained, and then he highlighted the project in Seattle.

Seattle’s East Marginal Roadway connects Seattle’s port to the rest of the nation. It’s in need of serious upgrades.
