An accounting professor at Everett Community College (ECC) held the equivalent of more than four, simultaneous full-time teaching contracts with a number of local technical colleges throughout the 2020-21 school year, averaging approximately 100 hours a week.
A whistleblower with ECC reported the professor to the Washington state auditor’s office. They alleged that the accounting professor held multiple, concurrent teaching contracts, working more than 100 hours a week, in such a way that negatively affected their performance at ECC.
The state auditor found that, over the 2020-21 school year, the professor taught 10 full-time courses during the fall, winter, and spring quarters; and 6 during the summer quarter. All
