Spokane misses playoffs for first time since 2016-17 season.
SPOKANE, Wash — The Chiefs entered the final 2 weeks of the regular season still alive in their quest for making the playoffs, but trailing the 8th place Kelowna Rockets by 14 points with just 9 games remaining. Spokane could only attain 18 points and would have to hope Kelowna would lose their remaining 8 games. That would require a bigger miracle than the U.S hockey team beating the Soviets in the 1980 Winter Olympics. I always like using baseball standings in form of a simplification.
