The Spirited Awards are to the bar and drinks industry like the Grammys are to musicians: They’re kind of a big deal. This year’s crop of 10 nominees—with categories honoring bars, bartenders, brand ambassadors, and even podcasters—includes several from Seattle.
Chris Elford—formerly of Canon and currently of Trade Winds Tavern, Navy Strength, Rob Roy, and the upcoming Here Today Brewery—snagged a nomination for U.S. Bartender of the Year. Trade Winds Tavern, which he co-owns with fellow industry elite Anu Apte, also earned a nod for Best New U.S. Cocktail Bar.
