A survey for Cable News Network had Obama ahead 50-47 percent in Ohio, while Ipsos-Reuters had Obama in the lead 47-45 percent.  The President was campaigning in small, usually Republican Ohio cities on Friday.  He and Romney are crisscrossing the Buckeye State, whose 18 electoral votes are likely to decide the election.

Ipsos-Reuters puts Obama up 48-45 percent in Virginia, and gives him a 48-46 percent lead in Florida. Ex-President Bill Clinton campaigned in the Sunshine State on Thursday, talking himself hoarse before multiple audiences.

One more Washington poll came out on Friday.  A Public Policy Polling survey, done for Washington Conservation Voters, put Obama ahead 54-44 percent, and had Jay Inslee at 49 percent to 46 percent for Republican Rob McKenna in the tight contest for Governor.

Washington Conservation Voters, and its national parent the League of Conservation Voters, have bet the store — or, to be exact, an estimated $700,000 — on Inslee.  He is the first candidate for Governor in any state that the national group has supported since Cecil Andrus in Idaho, and that was 42 years ago.

The McKenna campaign’s internal polling reportedly shows the Republican Attorney General with a small but growing lead.  The Washington Poll, in results released Thursday, had Inslee three points up.
