Local rivers on the rise, flood alert issued as heavy rain drenches the region

Local rivers are on the rise and so are worries across Western Washington.

A King County Flood Alert issued at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday said the Snoqualmie River has reached flood Phase 3 and that moderate flooding is expected in low-lying areas throughout the Snoqualmie Valley.

We were at the boat launch right outside of the town of Snohomish early Tuesday. As of 4:30 a.m., the Snohomish River was at 13 feet. It would need to hit 29 feet for major flooding.
