Seventeen hours is a long time to do anything. It’s longer than it takes to drive from Seattle to San Francisco, and almost long enough to watch Killers of the Flower Moon five times. And it’s a significant period of time to spend in an economy airplane seat. But 17 hours (or 16 hours and 55 minutes, as Singapore Airlines bills it) is the length of the longest nonstop out of Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, through 16 time zones to Singapore’s Changi International Airport. But I’m here to say it’s not quite as bad as it sounds.
