A North Seattle homeowner suffered life-threatening injuries early Sunday after police said he was shot by a robber.
The incident happened about 1:20 a.m. in the 12300 block of 11th Avenue Northeast, and officers blocked several streets and they searched for the suspect who fled on foot. Detective Renee Witt described the attacker as an Asian man, age 20 to 30 with medium height, a slim build, short black hair and a dark jacket.
As officers investigated that shooting, a second homeowner reported a burglary at a nearby residence. Several units were searching in the 12300 block of 14th Avenue Northeast, and 14th was blocked as far north as Northeast 127th Street.
“Officers quickly responded to that location and checked the house,” Witt said in a statement. “The suspect was gone. It is unknown if this was the same suspect.”
The victim, who was initially said to be alert and conscious, was taken to Harborview Medical Center about 1:45 a.m.
The Pinehurst incident was the second Seattle shooting in just more than six hours. The earlier shooting happened a few minutes after 7 p.m. Saturday night near the Space Needle.
Police say an errant bullet by a self-admitted Kent gang member hit a 33-year-old bystander in the leg. He’s expected to survive and the shooting suspect was arrested at the Seattle Center House. Click here to read more about the Seattle Center shooting.

The number of Seattle homicides peaked in 1994 when there were 69, according to department data.
