Fall’s quintessential back-to-school season has become a mad scramble for many Seattle parents. Teachers from the Seattle Education Association authorized a strike yesterday, a day before what was to be the start of a new school year at Seattle Public Schools. Educators are asking for better pay, more manageable student-to-staff ratios, and additional resources for special education and multilingual services.
While the district and educators hash it out for who knows how long, parents are left wondering what exactly to do with their children. Herein, some last-minute “strike camps” and child care options. We’ll plan to update this list if the strike continues.
