On the spectrum of ways one might fight embedded racism and systemic injustice, ordering crab quiche or porchetta from one of Seattle’s Black-owned restaurants is a small thing. But it’s immediate, it’s direct, and you can do it over and over again. One tiny upside to all that’s happened since 2020: Seattle-area diners made a sustained habit of supporting restaurants and local businesses that reflect our values.
