Just days after the highly-anticipated Hong Phat Supercenter opened the site of Southeast 82nd Avenue’s shuttered Walmart, the Portland food community received a stroke of bad luck with the sudden closure of the popular Eastport Food Center on 82nd and Southeast Center Street.
According to Antonio Chavez of the Los Tamales Locos cart, cart operators were given just over two weeks’ notice that the site had been sold and they would need to vacate.
