A 26-year-old climber from Washington state was found safe after being reported missing on Mount Hood, one of Oregon’s most challenging and unpredictable peaks.
As reported by CBS, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Brendan Davis became separated from his climbing partner Thursday afternoon in dense fog after they successfully summited Mount Hood from Timberline Lodge. Rescuers were able to locate Davis using his voice as a guide, navigating treacherous terrain to reach him around 2:45 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday — nearly a full day after he went missing.
