ALBANY, Ore. — The victims of one of Oregon’s deadliest highway crashes were farmworkers traveling in a van at an hour when agricultural laborers typically commute home after toiling in the harvest, the state’s farmworkers union said.
“I have a one-year-old son…a year and a half, in the morning, he woke up and he asked for mama,” said the husband of one of the victims. “There is no power that will be able to give me back my wife… we had plans together as a family.”
