Liv Osthus — perhaps best known by her stage name, Viva Las Vegas — is many things: a dancer at Old Town Portland strip club Mary’s Club, where she has worked since 1997; the subject of an award-winning documentary, Thank You For Supporting the Arts, as well as the inspiration for an opera based on her memoirs. She’s a classically trained soprano, has written a couple books, and has been an advocate for sex workers for decades. She is also a bartender at Bunk Bar in Inner Southeast — and a current candidate in Portland’s mayoral race.
