If you live in Portland, you’ve seen them on your way to work — drive-thru kiosks and cafes often painted pink or red, located on high-traffic stretches toward the city limits. The names are reminiscent of strip clubs: “Beans and Buns,” “Klymaxx Espresso.” You might picture a kind of Playboy bunny greeting, maybe a barista swinging on a mini pole within, or the lengths to which some visitors might go when customizing their order. In reality, the average day in the life of a bikini barista is pretty mundane — plus or minus a customer’s request for the barista to don a butt plug.
