North Tabor pizzeria American Dream Pizza has closed unexpectedly, the Oregonian reports. The pizzeria opened in 1985, making it one of Portland’s oldest dedicated pizza restaurants and spawning a Corvallis chain of the same name.
Co-founder Sebastian Malinow told the Oregonian that a plan to sell the restaurant to a pair of former employees fell through earlier this month. He says he plans to retire and hopes to find new buyers that will keep the pizzeria as is. “American Dream Pizza is temporarily closed for cleaning and minor remodeling,” a note taped to the restaurant’s door reads. “We are looking for (new) ownership.
