PORTLAND, Oregon — A person was hit by a car and died on Saturday night in East Portland. According to police, the crash happened at the intersection of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 162nd Avenue around 6:30 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained on the scene.
According to records kept by KGW based on traffic fatalities reported by the Portland Police Bureau, this is the fourth pedestrian to lose their life on city roads this year and the eighth overall traffic-related death.
