Oregon Mussels Sickened at Least 20 People This Weekend

An outbreak of paralytic shellfish poisoning sickened at least 20 people who ate Oregon Coast mussels this weekend, sending some to the hospital. The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) reports that those who got sick ate mussels harvested recreationally either Saturday, May 25 or Sunday, May 26, specifically at places like Short Beach and Hug Point. OHA is urging people to throw out any shellfish harvested on the Oregon Coast between the Washington border and Seal Rock State Park.
