Evacuations lifted after large fire near Banks, Hwy 26 remains closed

The fire is contained but still burning, according to fire officials. Hwy 26 will remain closed with detours.

BANKS, Ore. — A fire that started in an RV has been burning near Banks since Saturday morning. Hwy 26 will continue to remain closed in all directions and all evacuation orders have been lifted, according to Banks Fire District 13.

At around 4:30 p.m., Banks Fire District lifted Level 1 (Be Ready) evacuation orders for nearby residents. The fire is contained but still burning, fire officials said. Fire crews will remain on scene throughout the evening.
