Durant — the Dayton, Oregon vineyard, winery, and olive mill — is reprising its annual Olio Nuovo festival with events happening throughout November. Founded in 2008, Durant Olive Mill has the distinction of being Oregon’s only commercial olive mill, encompassing 17 acres of olive trees.
The festival, which is based on a southern Italian tradition of honoring the harvest of olio nuovo, or “new oil,” runs from November 1 through November 30 and includes an array of events that highlight Durant’s range of olive oils.
