A Popular Portland Indian Food Cart Suddenly Closes One of Its Locations

Desi PDX, a popular Indian food cart from Deepak Saxena, suddenly closed its location in the Upright Brewing food cart pod in late October. In a statement to Eater Portland, Saxena said that sales at the cart were not covering the costs of being open. Bridgetown Bites first reported news of the closure on Friday, October 25.

In addition to the Upright Brewing pod location, Saxena also operates a DesiPDX cart in the Prost pod, and an Indian brunch restaurant, Masala Lab. With the closure of the Upright Brewing location, Saxena is looking forward to focusing on growth at his other restaurants.
