LOS ANGELES (AP) — Guitarist Laurence Juber has created a photo book about his career, highlighting the years he spent with Paul McCartney’s band, Wings.
“Guitar With Wings: A Photographic Memoir” will be out Tuesday from Dalton Watson Fine Books, the publisher said.
The book was written by the Grammy Award-winning Juber and music historian Marshall Terrill and recounts the guitarist’s five-decade career.
The 250-plus page work has more than 200 previously unpublished images including Juber, McCartney and Wings, a spokesman for Juber said Monday.
“Contrary to my expectations that the Wings era would be absorbed into the general arc of Paul McCartney’s career, interest in the band itself has continued to flourish and I recognized that I had a unique perspective to offer,” Juber said.
In a statement, Juber said he wrote about on- and offstage moments of his time with McCartney, including recording sessions and the former Beatles’ 1980 marijuana arrest in Tokyo.
McCartney, who is on tour once more in Japan, canceled several Tokyo concerts in recent days because he was sick with a virus.
