PORTLAND, Ore. — A Southeast Portland frozen custard shop is facing a financial hardship due to a federal spending halt imposed by the Trump administration, leaving it without expected grant funding.

Cornet Custard, a small business that opened nine months ago on Southeast Division Street, specializes in frozen custards made with Pacific Northwest ingredients. Owner and chef Mika Parades takes pride in crafting custard using traditional methods.
