PORTLAND, Ore. — It’s been 50 years since Portland entered the professional soccer world — and the city fell in love. Decades later, the passion reigns on as thousands of supporters flock to the park on match days to watch the Portland Timbers and the Portland Thorns FC take the pitch, shaping “Soccer City USA.”
