Mediterranean bistro Zula, known for its craft cocktails, abruptly closed its doors on Portland’s Northwest 23rd Avenue just one year after opening.
PORTLAND, Ore. — A recently opened Mediterranean restaurant on Northwest 23rd Avenue announced that it’s closing its doors after just one year.
Zula opened nextdoor to Grassa in May 2023. Its mix of Moroccan, Greek, Lebanese, and Iranian-influenced dishes and cocktails quickly made its mark on social media as a new trendy food spot in Portland. That and its location on one of Portland’s most heavily-traversed streets for the restaurant and bar-hopping devotee all leaned toward it becoming a mainstay.
