Oregon joins Justice Department antitrust lawsuit against RealPage

Oregon has at least two neighborhoods, Aloha/West Beaverton and central Portland, that have been largely affected, according to the state attorney general.

SALEM, Ore. — Oregon’s state attorney general said “at least two” neighborhoods have been affected by RealPage Inc., the real estate software platform currently subject of a federal antitrust lawsuit that accuses the company of an illegal scheme that allows landlords to coordinate to hike rental prices.

The lawsuit, filed in North Carolina, alleges the Texas-based company is violating antitrust laws through its algorithm that landlords use to get recommended rental prices for millions of apartments across the country. According to the lawsuit, the company
