Oregon faces turmoil as families, businesses brace for financial hit amid Trump’s back-and-forth tariffs

Gov. Tina Kotek met with Oregon business leaders, economists and state officials Wednesday to discuss the financial toll tariffs are taking on the state’s economy.

SALEM, Ore. — The Trump administration’s on again, off again tariffs are hurting businesses, jeopardizing their planning and forcing them to raise prices on consumers, many Oregonians said. 

Business representatives, Gov. Tina Kotek, Treasurer Elizabeth Steiner and economists were seated for a roundtable in Salem Wednesday afternoon, sharing the impacts the tariffs have had on them so far.
