The Providence staffers are demanding higher wages and better benefits from the company. Roughly 1,800 health care workers in Portland and Seaside are on strike.
SEASIDE, Ore. — Nurses and clinicians walked the picket line Wednesday outside Providence Seaside Hospital. The honks coming from passing vehicles were a sign of the love the coastal community showed for the staffers on day three of a five-day strike.
“The support has been amazing from the community,” Ingrid Boettcher said. “Amazing.”
