Milwaukee Public Schools interim superintendent Darienne Driver on Wednesday named her chief of staff and a new acting chief innovation officer.
MPS comptroller and former North Milwaukee State Bank CEO Erbert Johnson will serve as chief of staff, and longtime administrator Ruth Maegli will fill the post of chief innovation officer.
Driver left the latter position in July 1 to temporarily take up the superintendent’s post vacated when Gregory Thornton left for Baltimore.
According to a news release, Johnson’s financial and business experience is meant to complement Driver’s instruction and school administration background.
