Dozens of Safeway, Albertsons, QFC stores in Oregon would be sold off under Kroger-Albertsons merger

A complete list of locations that would be divested under the pending merger between supermarket chains Kroger and Albertsons was released Tuesday.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A list of locations set to be divested under the pending merger between supermarket chains Kroger and Albertsons was released, and it includes 186 Safeway, Albertsons, QFC and Haggen stores across Oregon and Washington.

Kroger and Albertsons announced their planned merger in October 2022. The companies said it’s necessary so they can better compete with Walmart, Amazon and other big rivals.
