Clackamas County’s largest union voted to authorize a strike over cost-of-living raises.
CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Oregon — Members of the Clackamas County Employees Association (CCEA) have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike, with more than 90% supporting the measure amid a dispute over retroactive cost-of-living adjustments, the union announced Thursday in a press release.
The vote marks the first strike authorization in the union’s history and saw record membership participation, according to CCEA officials.
The union, representing more than 1,350 county employees, claims the county is withholding previously budgeted cost-of-living increases that other county employees have already received. CCEA said they’re also looking for leave
