2-week-old elephant baby Tula-Tu open to visitors at Oregon Zoo, starting Friday

Starting Friday, Oregon Zoo visitors can visit the newest baby elephant at Forest Hall, the indoor portion of the zoo’s elephant habitat.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The wait is finally over for those eager to get a glimpse of the Oregon Zoo’s newest baby elephant. The 2-week-old Tula-Tu will make her public debut starting Friday, after veterinarians and care staff gave the green light. 

“We know everyone has been eager to see Tula, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation,” said Steve Lefave, who oversees the zoo’s elephant area. “We’re taking things slowly to make sure Rose-Tu and her new calf are completely comfortable.”
