Trump administration’s tariffs on Canada, China and Mexico pose widespread impact to Oregon businesses

President Trump implemented the 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, with impacts ranging from the automaker industry to the farming industry.

WOODBURN, Ore. — President Donald Trump has spoken of imposing tariffs on foreign countries for months, and as of Tuesday, a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico is now in effect. In addition, the tariff on Chinese imports has now doubled to 20%. 

The impacts of this move are expected to be felt in various industries, ranging from farming to the automaker industry. 

Some countries, like Canada, expressed their plan to retaliate, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issuing a statement
