A decade ago, lacking the money to open a proper coffee shop, Joseph Nazir bought a red double-decker bus in San Diego for $10,000 and brought it up to Portland. Until he got a brick-and-mortar in 2023, that bus served as his Egyptian coffee shop, Tov Coffee, and has become a quirky landmark on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard.
Now, reports KOIN 6, Nazir is selling the bus, which has become a hassle, especially now that he serves customers in a building. “It was just a lot of money going out with maintenance and keeping the heat and all that,” the owner told KOIN 6.
