PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded Portland $7 million Tuesday to reduce barriers to housing production and lower costs for renters and homebuyers, according to a press release from the department.
The grant is part of a $100 million national initiative being distributed to 18 communities across 15 states through HUD’s Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) program.
