This evening, Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim said he is deeply disturbed by an incident earlier in the day when a stabbing occurred in downtown Vancouver and the suspect was shot and killed by police.

Sim said the incident, which occurred near Robson and Hamilton streets, has affected him greatly. “We’re at a loss and we understand how everyone feels because we’re residents of this place and we love this place and we just want this place to be safe,” he said.
