Target stores to stop accepting personal checks

The retailer said there are “extremely low volumes” of customers paying by personal checks.

MINNEAPOLIS — One of America’s largest retailers will stop accepting personal checks for payment later this month.

Minnesota-based Target said it will “no longer accept personal checks starting July 15” citing “extremely low volumes.” 

“Target is committed to creating an easy and convenient checkout experience, and that includes providing our guests with numerous ways to pay,” a Target spokesperson said in a statement.
