In an unprecedented event, a deep-sea creature known for its life in utter darkness emerged on the shores near Cannon Beach, Oregon, captivating the local Seaside Aquarium.
Beachgoers were astonished to discover the deep-sea anglerfish, commonly referred to as the Pacific football fish, just south of Cannon Beach. The Seaside Aquarium confirmed the rarity of this find, stating that “Only 31 specimens have ever been documented worldwide.” These elusive fish have been spotted in distant locations such as New Zealand, Japan, Russia, Hawaii, Ecuador, Chile, and California.
