Alriksson was selected by the Guelph Storm in Wednesday’s CHL Import Draft. Vancouver picked the 6-foot-6 Alriksson in the fourth round of the NHL draft; Guelph made Alriksson the 34th overall selection in the CHL import draft.
Intriguingly, the Storm’s co-owner and president is former Canucks assistant coach Scott Walker. Walker served as an assistant to Bruce Boudreau during the 2021-22 season but decided against returning for the 2022-23 NHL season.
He also worked for the Canucks from 2015 until 2019 as a development coach, alongside current Canucks assistant to the general manager Ryan Johnson. (He also broke into the NHL as a player with the Canucks
