For the third time in his career, Elias Pettersson has been named an All-Star.
The Vancouver Canucks centre was handed the mid-season honour by the NHL Thursday as part of an announcement of all four divisional teams that will play on All-Star weekend.
Pettersson has been Vancouver’s best all-around player this season, though there was some speculation that Bo Horvat, who’s the midst of a remarkable goal-scoring season, might get the nod over Pettersson.
This year’s event will be hosted by the Florida Panthers on Feb. 3 and 4.
In the initial announcement, one player from each NHL team is named to their respective divisional teams.
